When you’re out and it’s wet, or when you’re in and you want to go out and it’s raining, you have a choice.
Let them play, get wet and muddy, have wet feet and winge. They make great memories and slowly learn that wet feet get uncomfortable, so they might want to think before they act because they bear the consequences of their actions.
Or try to keep them clean and dry by nagging them. You make them miserable and get annoyed because they do sometimes end up splashing. They slowly learn to avoid playing outside when it’s wet, to be afraid of getting muddy, that parents don’t like playing and you can get away with things if you keep quiet.
Rainy day choices.
